Active verb(fig.) To prove that food and drink presented by the host to his guests have not been poisoned, the host usually tastes from every eatable thing presented before allowing his guests to have their share. This tradition is called ịlū ọgwù call the master of the house to come and taste the eatables (traditionally, to prove absence of poisoning)
